Excessive Sweating Problems

I wanted to talk to you about excessive sweating problems and what you can do about it. I have been an over active sweater most of my life. When I was a child, I never really thought about it, but as I got into my teenage years I was a little more self conscious of it. I eventually got to the point where I assumed that I was just a person that sweats a lot. I just thought that it was my genetics and there wasn't anything I could do about it. Well, I soon learned that as an adult I was being treated different and finally tried to find a solution to my excessive sweating problems.
Let me tell you what drove me to change. I was working at my job. One which had a lot of room to climb the ladder and one that I thought would be my career. I'd been there for a few years, did great work and I had great education behind me. One day I was passed by on a promotion that went to someone that was newer and had less experience than me. I realized that as a sweaty person, I came off to people as lacking confidence and even having something to hide.
At that point I wanted to eliminate my excessive sweating problems. I soon realized that food was speeding up my heart and metabolism, which creates heat. When you get hot, you sweat. Things like coffee, soda and spicy foods were cut out of my diet and my sweating started to go down.

Insider Secrets For Managing Heavy Backpacks

Backpacks have become so extremely heavy in recent years that children are often carrying half of their body weight, or more, in their backpacks everyday. It is important for parents and educators to listen to their children or students and take their complaints seriously. It is not normal for children to complain of bodily aches and pains. If the symptoms are caused by improper backpack use, taking the proper safety precautions should alleviate the symptoms.
The most common injury associated with improper backpack use is termed "Rucksack Palsy." This is pressure on the nerves in the shoulder area causing numbness in the hands, muscle wasting and in rare cases, nerve damage. Other symptoms of improper backpack use include shoulder pain, headaches, neck pain, back pain and hip pain. An improperly carried backpack can weaken neck, mid-back, low back and abdominal muscles. Children have underdeveloped muscles and bones that are susceptible to improper molding due to carrying too much weight.
Backpack safety begins with the weight and size of the bag. The pack should weigh only 15% of your child's body weight. For instance, if your child weighs 60 pounds, their backpack cannot weigh more then 9 pounds. It can be no wider than the torso and no longer than from the shoulder to the hip. The backpack needs to have well-padded straps, worn on both shoulders, and fit snug. A loose and low bag can strain muscles between the shoulders. Wearing the backpack on only one shoulder causes the body to lean to one side, which causes the spine to curve in that direction. It also puts strain on the nerves and blood vessels in the shoulder area. Pack the heaviest objects toward the back of the backpack and be sure items will not shift.
It is important to take the time to pick out a correctly sized backpack for your child to use and to ensure they are using it properly. The health of your child's spine depends on it. For more information, our office is sponsoring Backpack Safety Awareness Month in August.

Addressing the Problem of Chemicals Found in Tap Water - What Can Be Done?

Considering that over 70% of the human body is made up of water, it should come as no surprise that drinking enough filtered tap water is incredibly important to our health. Unfortunately, there are many chemicals found in tap water, and many of them are harmful. For most of us, the days of drinking healthy mineral water from a well or running stream are long past. Today, most of us rely on tap water filtered by local water plants.
Among the many chemicals found in tap water, some that are intentionally added, such as fluoride, which prevents tooth decay, or chlorine, which kills bacteria and prevents the spread of water-borne diseases such as typhoid and cholera. Most chemicals found in tap water, however, end up there accidentally, and are not filtered out by water treatment plants.
There are currently over 2,100 toxic, cancer-causing chemicals found in tap water, including lead, fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and household cleaning chemicals. Although there many only be trace elements of these chemicals, they build up in the body over time, especially when one considers most of us drink tap water every day from birth to old age.
Mineral water also contains immune-enhancing minerals and nutrients that the body needs. Drinking a large amount of purified mineral water helps keep you healthier longer. This is not to say drinking enough water will cure cancer or AIDS or regrow a finger.
Rather, the health benefits of drinking filtered tap water are much more subtle, preventing and healing the chronic, everyday illnesses such as back pain, muscle pain, and morning sickness that don't kill us, but rather slow us down and sap our enjoyment of life.
The ways in which drinking enough filtered tap water can help maintain a healthy body are too numerous to mention in this brief article, so we'll just focus on two of the most common ailments that affect people: back pain and arthritis.
Did you know that back pain is often intensified or even caused by dehydration. The spine consists of alternating blocks of bone and cartilage discs. The discs essentially act as a combination of cushion and shock absorber, and are comprised of flexible tissue filled with pockets of fluid (mostly water).
When the body isn't getting enough water, these discs "deflate", allowing the bones to press against each other, causing back pain and stiffness. Drinking enough filtered tap water will keep these discs hydrated and cushioning your spine as best they can.
Arthritis pain and stiffness is caused by bones in the joints rubbing against each other, which in turn causes swelling in the surrounding tissue. Much like the spine, your body uses flexible joint cartilage between the bones as a cushion, and that cushion is lubricated with water.
When your body is not getting enough water, the cushion is less lubricated, which causes more friction between the bones and leads to pain, stiffness, and swelling. Drinking enough filtered tap water regularly can reduce, and in some cases even end, arthritic pain.
One should drink at least 64 ounces of water a day (next time you go to a convenience store, look a the size of the 64-oz soft drink cup to get an idea of how much water that is), but the more, the better. Some doctors are even suggesting twice that amount. Finally, it's not enough just to drink water. You also need to drink the right kind of water. Filtered tap water is the best, as it removes 99% of the harmful chemicals found in tap water. These chemicals are even found in bottled drinking water.
So know you know. All the chemicals found in tap water should be filtered out. Even those put in by the public water systems such as chlorine and floride can create health problems. Filters designed to provide filtered tap water are easy to install and are very economical. Don't even think of using bottled water when you can have filtered water from your own tap at a fraction of the price.
