How to Increase Height - 4 Tips That Work

Many of us are less than pleased with our short height. Being of small stature, often translates into reduced stature in many areas of life. It is unfair, for instance, that taller people statistically receive better employment, faster promotions, and increased attention in general. This is one of the sad facts of life. Many of us have tried to grow taller, or at least appear taller. Many online scams take advantage of this honest desire to even the playing field. Such offers may advise short people to take special pills or do special exercises, as if this were how to increase height.

But why get mad when you can get even? Yes, there are proven ways that really help increase your height. None of these require you to take dangerous drugs, spend money on dangerous surgery, or to waste time and energy on useless exercises, or exercise devices that are designed to steal your money, rather than to increase height.

1. Wear shoes that flatter you. Shoes with flat soles do nothing to help a short person's cause. Yes, there is a stigma attached to wearing elevator shoes, but you can certainly wear shoes to enhance your height that are not as obvious as those. Try sandals or boots, or simply dress shoes with higher heels, to give you a taller appearance. Larger shoes that are bulkier also creates the illusion of tallness, since subconsciously we associate big feet with tall stature.

Also, try wearing pinstripes, or any other vertical stripes, to appear taller and to give you a slimmer appearance. It is surprising how few people realize when they are wearing something that causes them to appear shorter than they actually are. Vertical lines in your clothing draw attention up and down your body, rather than across, which causes you to appear squatter.

2. Wear a flattering hairstyle. By keeping your hair off your neck, your neck appears longer. Shorter hair styles also create a profile that appears more substantial. Shorter people with longer hair, often vanish beneath their locks and tresses. So a shorter cut makes you appear taller!

3. Attitude Creates Latitude! While you cannot fool Mother Nature, your confidence gains the confidence of those around you. Try it and see! Act as if you are taller, and others will respect you more, and grant you the right-of-way more of the time. So confidence creates metaphorical stature in the minds of others.

4. Stand up straight. Most of us, whether tall or short, break this fundamental rule all the time. Unless you use good posture, you will not routinely increase your height. Using flattering body positioning also makes you appear much taller. And so don't slump, and you won't disappear against the background. Standing up straight, and apart from furniture that we tend to lean against, goes a long way toward increasing the impression of height. So roll your shoulders back, hold your back up straight, and keep your chin and face held high, any you will see what a difference it makes in how others regard you.

So, then, how to increase height? Try dressing correctly, styling your hair shorter and off the neck, striking a confident attitude, and practicing tall posture, in the spine as well as the neck and head. You'll feel taller than others -- and most importantly, taller than your old self!
